Book Review: Splintered

splintered

By Cheshire

Ermahgerhd I am so excited for book 3! The cover is just gorgeous! I simply cannot wait. 🙂 Here goes.

Summary: Alyssa Gardner hears the whispers of bugs and flowers—precisely the affliction that landed her mother in a mental hospital years before. This family curse stretches back to her ancestor Alice Liddell, the real-life inspiration for Lewis Carroll’s Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland. Alyssa might be crazy, but she manages to keep it together. For now.

When her mother’s mental health takes a turn for the worse, Alyssa learns that what she thought was fiction is based in terrifying reality. The real Wonderland is a place far darker and more twisted than Lewis Carroll ever let on. There, Alyssa must pass a series of tests, including draining an ocean of Alice’s tears, waking the slumbering tea party, and subduing a vicious bandersnatch, to fix Alice’s mistakes and save her family. She must also decide whom to trust: Jeb, her gorgeous best friend and secret crush, or the sexy but suspicious Morpheus, her guide through Wonderland, who may have dark motives of his own.

My Rating: FIVE STARS!

Book Review: The Iron Trial

the iron trial

By Cheshire

Guuuys, I don’t even know how I’m going to write this review… Urgh. It’s just so… I don’t even know how to explain it. I suppose I’ll cross that bridge when I get to it. Here goes.

Summary: Most kids would do anything to pass the Iron Trial.

Not Callum Hunt. He wants to fail.

All his life, Call has been warned by his father to stay away from magic. If he succeeds at the Iron Trial and is admitted into the Magisterium, he is sure it can only mean bad things for him.

So he tries his best to do his worst – and fails at failing.

Now the Magisterium awaits him. It’s a place that’s both sensational and sinister, with dark ties to his past and a twisty path to his future.

The Iron Trial is just the beginning, for the biggest test is still to come…

Book Review: The Dream Thieves

dream thieves

By Cheshire

Two reviews in one day! In one hour! Fantastic! But I still have so many more to do, for the books I’ve been binging on lately. *groans and smacks head on keyboard* I’ll try not to despair about that as I write this review. Because I have so many good things to say about this book. Here goes.

Summary: Now that the ley lines around Cabeswater have been woken, nothing for Ronan, Gansey, Blue, and Adam will be the same.

Ronan, for one, is falling more and more deeply into his dreams, and his dreams are intruding more and more into waking life.

Meanwhile, some very sinister people are looking for some of the same pieces of the Cabeswater puzzle that Gansey is after…

My Rating: FOUR AND A HALF STARS
